Artsonia Artist of the Week

Cold Weather Procedures/Procedimientos meteorológicos

Weather Procedures:
Upon arrival time if it is raining or the “feels like/wind chill” temperature is below 20° (at 19° or lower) the children come directly into the building.

For recess, if it is raining or the “feels like/wind chill” temperature is below 10° (at 9° or lower) children remain indoors. Please remember children must have snow pants, boots, and gloves to play in the snow.

At 3:30pm, if the temperature is below 20° (at 19° or lower) we will have indoor dismissal from the West Gym.
Procedimientos meteorológicos :
A la hora de la llegada, si está lloviendo o la temperatura de & quot; sensación de frío/viento está por debajo de los 20° (a 19° o menos), los niños entran directamente a el edificio.

Para el recreo, si está lloviendo o la temperatura de & quot; sensación de frío /viento es inferior a 10° (a 9° o menos), los niños permanecen en el interior. Por favor recuerde que los niños deben tener pantalones de nieve, botas y guantes para jugar en la nieve.

A las 3:30 pm, si la temperatura está por debajo de los 20° (a 19° o menos), tendremos que salir del gimnasio del oeste.

Follow these suggestions to help ensure a balanced collection:
Kindergarten: Bags or canned beans (black/pinto/garbanzo/fava) & rice
1st Grade: Pasta & canned pasta sauce
2nd Grade: Healthy breakfast cereal & macaroni and cheese
3rd Grade: Pancake mix & pancake syrup
4th Grade: Peanut butter and jelly & canned fruits (packed in light syrup/juice preferred)
5th Grade: Canned vegetables and canned soups

Save Your Plastic Caps

40 billion plastic bottles are produced each year in the US, mostly for beverages. Two-thirds of them end up in landfills. All things considered, this is not good for the environment. Avoid landfills by recycling your plastic bottle caps at Henking School. Just rinse them, dry them and send them into the LRC. Students can then use them as part of our STEM Challenges.
