Empty Bowls

Empty Bowls

This March, Henking will have its first Empty Bowls Night. Empty Bowls is a hunger relief project where students make foodsafe, handmade bowls and then invite family and friends for a simple meal of soup and bread. All the donations will be given to the Northfield Food Pantry.
We are making bowls in art class now!
Here are some great ideas for discussion of Empty Bowls with your children:
1. What does it feel like to be hungry?
2. How does it feel to be full?

4. Some children don't have 3 full meals a day-some have their
only meal at school.
note: 20% of Henking kids get free or reduced lunches
